Mother’s Day is just around the corner and mums have been working pretty hard this past year, don’t you think? Of course the dads have too, but they’ll get their chance in June 😉 What can you get an eco-conscious mum for Mother’s Day? I have plenty of Mother’s Day gift ideas she’ll love.

Zero Waste Natural Lip Balm is Any Mum’s Best Friend
Us mums love a nice lipbalm, and this zero waste natural lip balm I found on Thought is lovely. It’s by Beauty Made Easy, and has recyclable paper packaging, is biodegradable and Vegan and cruelty-free. Ingredients include upcycled hemp oil, coconut oil and cacao butter, so it’s super moisturising.
Mum will Love a Thought Clothing Organic T-Shirt
Most of the mums I know love a nice slogan T-shirt. This Thought Clothing Organic ‘Oh La La’ T-Shirt is a great Mother’s Day gift idea. It’s on sale for £19 at the moment too, even better. It’s Fairtrade and GOTS certified organic cotton, and is lovely and soft.
Organic Loungewear Makes the Perfect Mother’s Day Gift Idea
Give mum the gift of comfort his Mother’s Day, with ultra comfortable, organic, ethically produced lounge wear. I must admit I’m quite a recent convert to lounge wear, despite working from home as a freelance copywriter for the past 6 years!
I found these super comfortable GOTS certified organic cotton lounge pants at Noctu Organic and I really miss them when they’re in the wash! They are called Aku Harems and you can find them in several lovely colours, including Thunder Grey which is what I bought.
They were made here in the UK and I think they are more flattering on me (and a little smarter?) than normal jogging bottoms. You can wear them higher on your waist as I have here, or lower on your hips.
I’m also wearing the organic handmade sweatshirt my sister Debbie made me for my birthday and you can find them on her organic clothing brand website With Narrative. She also has a range of colours and I have barely taken this off since my birthday, just for washing really!

Luxe Organic Skincare is a Lovely Mothers Day Gift
A gorgeous organic skincare gift set is a classic Mothers Day gift idea. This Infinite Beauty set from organic beauty pioneers Green People is hard to beat. {PR Products} Green People are one of my favourite clean beauty brands and their Age Defy+ range for 35+ skin is simply wonderful.

Make Mum’s Day With Craft Kit
Lots of mums want nothing more that some quiet, with a nice cup of tea and a relaxing craft. Or maybe that’s just me? Anyway, I highly recommend gifting craft kits for creative mums this Mother’s Day. Buying from these crafty makers supports small female-founded businesses. Once they are made, these projects will be loved for years to come. They have minimal materials, and no waste so they make a great eco-conscious gift for Mother’s Day.
My favourites are embroidery kits from Cotton Clara (this Be Yourself embroidery was a collaboration with Margo in Margate) and virtual origami workshops from Origami-Est. Esther has workshops available to buy on her website, and these paper peonies were from one of her workshops. She also has a fab You Tube channel where she’s started putting up her mini makes so you can fold along with her there too.

12-Free Nail Varnish is a Lovely Treat for Mother’s Day
I discovered Cienna Rose boutique nail polish just before Christmas and I love them. They are 12-free so pretty much as clean as it gets for nail polish, with an almost bewildering range of colours! I’m wearing the pink in the picture of my Be Yourself embroidery above. They are nice and opaque so one coat is just about enough (though two is even better) and they dry fast too. They are Vegan and cruelty-free too, of course.

I think this lovely little heart shaped enamel badge would be a perfect Mother’s Day gift.

‘We Are Family’ Disko Kids Print
Disko Kids are one of my favourite female-founded small businesses. They have a lovely range of music-themed products which would all make great gifts. But for Mother’s Day, I love this “We Are Family” pink print. Mine has been keeping me company over my desk for the past year.
I also love this “We’ll Be Together Again” card. It’s perfect for Mother’s Day from a distance, or to send to a friend (I sent some to my best friends for Galentine’s Day)
Mum Will Love Sustainable Mermaid Gin
I was sent this gin for my Christmas eco-friendly gift guide . We loved it so much I wanted to feature it agin. The Isle of Wight Distillery is the only one on the island, and it’s certified Net Zero. Their Mermaid Gin is certified as plastic-free by A Plastic Planet.
The beautiful bottle is made from easily recyclable glass, with a sustainably sourced natural cork stopper and compostable tamper-proof seal. And the taste? Absolutely lush! It contains rock samphire, elderflower, grains of paradise, organic lemon zest and boadicea hops.
