I’m on a quest to find 100% natural skincare that works. I’ve been using two products from the Pure & Light Organic skincare range for the past six weeks. So have I found my perfect natural skincare? Read on to find out.

Pure & Light Organic Skincare Review

Pure & Light Organic Skincare

Pure & Light Organic Skincare is a new brand to me. I discovered them through my role as an accredited blogger at natural beauty shop Love Lula*. The entire range contains only pure, therapeutic grades of natural and certified organic ingredients. They are free from mineral oils, alcohol, beeswax, parabens, sulphates, lanolin or animal products, artificial colours, artificial fragrances, synthetic perfumes and SLS. They are also Vegan and cruelty free.

Pure & Light Organic Skincare say their formulations “can cleverly adapt to the unique needs of all types of skin — from hyper-sensitive, dry, dull, dehydrated and mature, to oily, blemished and eczema-prone.” So in theory, their products should work for everyone.

They have a range of facial and body products, plus some for babies and new mums*. I’m testing their Revitalising Facial Exfoliation and Transformative Beauty Balm. They both come in air-locked, recyclable pumps which keep them fresh. The metallic foil writing and gorgeous colour palette means they look great on the bathroom shelf.

Pure & Light Organic Skincare Revitalising Facial Exfoliation

Pure & Light say “This dual-action cleansing cream will leave your skin rejuvenated, revitalised and radiant by combining cleansing with gentle daily exfoliation.” It contains 32 active natural ingredients including immortelle, rose, ylang-ylang, berry seeds, hyaluronic acid and silica.

I am obsessed with facial exfoliators, so I am very fussy, having tried so many over the years. Personally, I like a scrubby exfoliator that you can feel sloughing away the dull, dead skin cells. This Revitalising Facial Exfoliation is a creamy balm, with only a few scrubby bits, which initially disappointed me.

They recommend massaging it into damp skin before rinsing. However I found it works much better when you massage it into dry skin. I would say it is more of a polish than a scrub, but it smells and feels gorgeous. You can buy Pure & Light Organic Skincare Revitalising Facial Exfoliation for £28* from Love Lula. I think this is perfect gentle polish for sensitive skin, and for daily use. But if you’re looking for a proper facial scrub, this probably won’t be grainy enough for you!

Pure & Light Organic Skincare Transformative Beauty Balm

Pure & Light say “This incredibly versatile balm is the answer to your skin’s every need, on every part of your body! It instantly lifts and tones, powerfully cleanses and moisturises, gently nourishes and soothes.” You can use it as a cleansing balm, face mask, or rich moisturiser.

It’s 99% organic and suitable for all skin types, containing argan, shea butter, coconut, hyaluronic acid, rock rose, rosa rubiginosa, borage, sandalwood and ylang-ylang. As you can imagine from these ingredients, it smells absolutely gorgeous.

I find it works best as a cleansing balm. Just massage over your face and polish off with a hot muslin cloth. I do need to use a micellar water afterwards, especially for eye make-up, but it’s a really luxurious way to end the day. Just don’t get it in your mouth as it tastes dreadful.

I have used this overnight as a moisturiser but it’s way too rick for my combination skin, bringing me out in loads of tiny whiteheads all over my T-zone. My cheeks were fine so it would probably be OK for dry skin types. I;ll be sticking to using it s as cleansing balm though. You can buy Pure & Light Organic Skincare Transformative Beauty Balm for £39* from Love Lula. It’s a gorgeous cleansing balm (as long as you don’t get any in your mouth) and smells divine. It’s also really fab for dry hands as it’s super moisturising.
